The Challenge
Repositioning A Legacy Brand After Acquisition.
After being acquired by SX Industries, the Buck Snort line of decorative hardware needed an updated visual system that would fit within the company’s broader product portfolio. The goal was to preserve the recognizable antler mark while refining the identity for modern marketing, packaging, and product presentation.
To support the expanding Buck Snort product line, a series of collection marks were created to organize different hardware styles and themes. Each sub-brand uses the same hexagonal structure and visual language as the core identity, allowing the collections to feel distinct while still clearly part of the Buck Snort brand.
This system makes it easier for retailers and customers to navigate product categories such as outdoor hardware, western styles, coastal themes, and decorative accents.
To showcase the growing product line, a comprehensive catalog was designed featuring clear product layouts, organized collection sections, and detailed hardware listings.
The catalog was built as an interactive PDF, allowing users to click directly from product listings to additional information and ordering details. At the same time, the layout was carefully structured so the document could also be printed cleanly for sales presentations and trade use.
The Outcome
Brand System For Distinct Hardware
The updated Buck Snort identity created a consistent visual system for product collections, marketing materials, and catalog design.
With the new sub-brand structure and interactive catalog in place, the line now presents a clearer, more organized brand for retailers and customers.
